Let’s talk about birth control
First off, I only did half of the workout yesterday (Day 6). I am not proud of it but won’t let that get to me. Since at least I did some and was sweating quite a lot.
But yeah, as I mentioned in the subject line, let’s talk about birth control.
Since I got my IUD inserted in August 2019, I gained 30 pounds and I read the side effects of Mirena over and over and over again, While I am happy that I don’t seem to have other side effects—or maybe too dull to notice any, 30 lbs is a lot! But apparently only 5-6% experience it. I beg to differ!! Today my best friend who’s expecting in August texted me, “hey do you think your IUD made you gain weight?” and proceeded to tell me that she did from her arm implant. Our stories were pretty similar. We workout, diet, and did even more when we noticed weight gain. It just feels impossible to lose weight and I wondered about my metabolism and blamed it on being 30. I’ve contemplated on removing IUD for a while and I cannot wait any longer. Kaiser doesn’t seem to have the best scheduling process in place especially during COVID-19 but I will remove it ASAP and report back.
I know nobody reads this but can anyone relate??
